Median odometer reading by model year
Toyota Prius: median odometer reading by model year Line chart of the median odometer reading in kilometres for each model year from 2004 to 2021, with the 10th to 90th percentile range shaded. The median is 240,435 km for 2004 and 85,462 km for 2021. The table lists every value.

A break in the line means that model year has no page, so no value is drawn for it.

What the table shows

The table covers model years 2004 to 2021 (model years with a page: 9; UK MOT readings in total: 68,532, from 2023 tests). The oldest model year, 2004, has a median of 240,435 km and the newest, 2021, 85,462 km: the older year’s median is 181% higher. The 10th to 90th percentile range is widest relative to the median for 2021 (179% of the median) and narrowest for 2004 (90%). Between directly consecutive model years (pairs compared: 5), the newer year’s median differs by less than 3% on average.

These are 2023 UK MOT observations of different cars at different ages: a cross-section of the fleet, not the history of any one car. Differences between model years reflect cars of different ages, not changes in an individual car’s mileage.
